Sheep Breeds Wallposter
To most people a sheep is a sheep, or is it? Few people know the breeds that make up our national flock of over 40 million sheep. Even fewer can tell the breeds apart or anything else about them. Greg Burgess General Manager NZSBA says “School children tend to treat sheep as being a generic animal and it was obvious at Field Days and A & P Shows that there was a real need for a visible Sheep Breeds wallposter as an educational resource. The New Zealand Sheepbreeders Association resurrected the old Wool Breeds sheep poster, contacted all Breed Societies and updated information and photographs. “Our intention right from the concept was to provide this product free to all educational institutions, and it was pleasing Meat & Wool New Zealand, with help from another sponsor joined us latterly to help defray costs.” For those other than learning institutions there is a small charge to help reimburse the costs of production.
