The sponsors welcome National Bank to the sponsorship team and reiterate their commitment to make this year a very special 16th year for this iconic competition.

All farmers are invited to enter and ‘give it a go’, and what better way to assess your progress?

“The hogget competition gives farmers the opportunity to benchmark their flocks against others at both local and national level as well as giving them the chance to compare different farming systems and learn from other competitors as well as the judging panel” – Stephen Rabbidge National Convenor

A Dinner Presentation is taking place on Tuesday, 19 June 2012 at the Hotel Ashburton, where all Breed Finalists will be present. Everyone is most welcome to attend and during the dinner the finalists will be viewed on screen along with their property. Rob Cope-Williams will be the MC and the evening will be broadcast on ‘Robs Country’. At the end of the evening the Overall Winner is to be announced.

Entries close 21st March, with judging taking place the following month, and the National Final Judging is taking place from the 27th April.

Once you enter you will be then sent a more detailed entry form that is required by the judges. If you are unable to enter but know of someone who should, get them to enter and then follow their progress right through to the finals in Christchurch.

“The success of this unique competition is due to the many volunteers who tap farmers on the shoulder encouraging entries, and the passion and commitment of the Convenors who give up their time for the duration of this event” – Greg Burgess New Zealand Sheepbreeders’ Assn.

National Judging completed - Overall Winner will be announced at the Presentation Dinner - Tuesday, 19 June commencing at 5.00 pm..
